Six suspected Internet fraudsters were, on Tuesday, arrested in Ibadan, Oyo State, when operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission raided their hideout at the Kolapo Ishola Estate, Akobo area of the city.

The early morning bust, according to sources in the commission, followed series of petitions by residents of the community detailing the alleged illegal activities of the suspects.
The suspects, whose ages range from 24 to 30 years, are Tella Adefemi Ibrahim, Awoniyi Adeseye Abiodun, Oladele Olawale Wasiu, Olabiti Afeez Ajibola, Akeredolu Oluwafemi Temidayo and Oyaremi Olalekan Olabode.
The source added that the intelligence gathered on the suspects suggested that they were deeply involved in fraudulent activities, including love scams and different forms of Internet fraud, through which they obtained money from unsuspecting victims.
Items recovered from the suspects included five different models of exotic cars, laptops, mobile phones, and several documents on which they allegedly made false representations.
